When you print via a Windows shared queue using SMB as the protocol, you are always going to have to authenticate with Windows credentials.
- Hi all, I'm a Mac newbie so bear with me. We've recently setup a Windows 2008 Print Server at work here. All our print jobs need to go through that because we have print accounting software that runs off the queues. As such, I don't believe printing directly to printer via IPP/IP address will work (as it bypasses the accounting software).
- Thankfully, Windows Phone App for Mac is at hand to make the whole process easier. First things first, you’ll need to grab the right program and download it to your Mac, and there’s only one way to get that. You’ll need an iTunes account and access to the App Store, then search for Windows Phone App for Mac (or click that link, of course).
- Upload from Mac to Instagram multiple photos and videos, edit pictures, add hashtags and emojis, use multiple Instagram accounts. This handy Instagram uploader for Mac is a perfect desktop solution for Instagrammers. Upload high-resolution photos or videos in any format on Instagram.

If you create the print queue using the Windows icon in the Add Printer window, and then browse the workgroup and then select the Windows computer sharing the printer (in your case the Windows Server 2008 print server) you will get prompted to authenticate before you will see the printer share. You need to authenticate with your Windows account - not your Mac account. If the server is domain bound, you will have to use domainusername for the account. With the share visible, you can add the printer. But the first time you print, you will be prompted to authenticate again, using your Windows account. At this point you can save the account details to Keychain so you don't have to interact every time you print.

With you manually adding the path to the share via the Advanced pane, you have bypassed the first authentication step, which is fine. But as you have seen, you do need to authenticate in order to print. So if you enter your Windows account details at this point, the job will leave the Mac - no start/resume required.
Jan 06, 2019 The main issue I’ve been struggling with is that OneDrive will stop working after some days – it will just crash without any warning soon after the app loads. As this is a silent crash, you won’t even be aware that your files are not being synced at all uploading files correctly, at least some files appear to get stuck in the upload queue. Free apps for dyslexia.
Now if you don't have a Windows account you can use (although I would expect that you have otherwise there is no account to register the useage against) then you will have to get your IT department to create one for you. Then you can use this when you get prompted to authenticate - and save this to keychain for future printing.
